Best Emo Songs I've heard till this date!
(For me Emo is simply emotional. Songs that fill you up with nostalgia, painful longings and yes of course a bucket full of tears! For me, it doesn't mean a music genre or a fashion statement, so there can be an "Emo" band with shitty songs and then there can be world-recognized super popular/respected bands making cheesy-yet wonderful pure emo songs.)
1. Jesus Christ/Handcuffs by Brand New: This is as emo as it can get. These songs along with the whole album are very hard to listen to. They speak the truth. They scream their heart out. They make you cry like a baby crying for it's lollipop.
2. Disenchanted/ I Don't Love You by MCR: These songs and specially the whole album is like you're listening to a freaking crybaby. The vocals, you'll either love it or hate it, and luckily I worship it. I was in perfect mood and shape when I began to listen this album for the first time. From then on, I've become more emo and there is no stopping now!
3. Easy/Lucky/Free by Bright Eyes: Shit, this album is the very definition of Emo! It starts from a nightmare and then an alarm followed by painful background scream and a journey to a magical, lonely and a sad barren landscape.
4. Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner/ I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song) by FOB : If this is Emo, then I love Emo. These two songs are like the two lungs of an Emo body. Simply stunning. Pure lyrical genius. Also , the album has some pretty amazing glimpses of sad/emo moments which will fry your brains out. Brilliant.
5. Fake Plastic Trees/ Codex / Creep / How To Disappear / Motion Picture Soundtrack by Radiohead : In short, the whole discography of this freaking ridiculously talented band can be considered as Emo. Right from Pablo Honey to their Lotus Flower, all they've done is make you sad, crazy and sad again. Love them for this!
6. The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot / Noro / You Stole/ No Seatbelt Song by Brand New : Once again, they've made the list. The reason they are called American Radiohead needs no expalnations. It's like that they love to bumm out the heart of their fans.
7. Demolition Lovers / Early Sunset Over Monroeville / Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You / I Never Told You What I Do for a Living by MCR : Dark, bloody, epic, zombies. If these things don't make you weep then maybe you should try peeling onions.
8. Ohio Is For Lovers / Nikki FM / Decembers by Hawthorne Height : Now this is real emo. Cheesy lyrics, cheesy backing screams and shitload of tears. But still, the thing that makes them different from the rest of garbage is they did hit the right chords, rubbing salt on perfectly right places.
9. Trailer Trash by Modest Mouse : If possible try it's cover by Jesse Lacey. Just perfect. Haven't had the chance of going through all of Modest Mouse. But the three-four songs I've heard are so emo, that it's getting hard for me to try out their other stuff. But still, who knows maybe some day.
10. Everything to Nothing by Manchester Orchestra : Andy Hull, I think this guy has some issues. I think he takes joy in hurting others. The whole album is a loud-out-cryout! Sad and nothing else. Just magnificent.
Honorable Mention:
1. blink-182 (yes they are emo, they even have a song by this name ;) ,just go and listen to 21 Days, Carousel, I Miss You, I'm Sorry and many many more!)
2. I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You) / Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On A Bad Bet by FOB
3. Accident Prone by Jawbreaker
4. Untitled album by Brand New (this should had been in top ten :/)
5. Goodbye Sky Harbor by Jimmy Eat World (exceptional)

P.S. this whole article was written in a matter of 45 minutes ( a result of sudden fluctuation in mood of an "emo" guy while listening to Trailer Trash)
